I would probably give this 2.5 stars if I had the option, but decided to round up.
Shteyngart's dystopia America is both clever and frighteningly on par with our current tech driven/celeb obsessed/oversexed culture and where we seem to be headed. Unfortunately, the book cannot stand up to other dystopia tales and if it's just a love story then it failed for me there too. I never could understand the why behind Lenny and Eunice, and only connecting to Eunice through her emails and texts left her motivations as a character just as empty.
This is a smart book, I only wish after reading it I hadn't felt so disappointed that it did not reach whatever it was aiming for.
