The Princess Bride by William Goldman

I grew up loving, adoring, obsessing over The Princess Bride movie, and I'm not afraid to share the fact that I would go around quoting during my youth, and maybe now - so what of it? - in my best Castilian accent, "My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die." I thought I was über cool and still do. Anyway, when I read this book (I was clueless to the fact that the amazing movie was actually based on a novel of the same name) I couldn't put it down. William Goldman is hysterical. I totally dig his dry sense of humor. There are many things in the book that naturally were left out of the movie because they wouldn't have made sense. You'd have to read this classic to understand what I'm referring to after having viewed the movie, obvi. And yes, I feel like this book should be a classic. Well, to me it is, so there. It's brilliant, IMHO. I urge everyone to read The Princess Bride. It's charming, funny, sarcastic, romantic, action-packed, endearing, amazing, epic, and I'll stop now. Hopefully, surely I got my point across that I love, love, love, and love this novel.
