really liked it
bookshelves: history, novels

Remarkable book by the author of March, previously correspondent for the Wall Street Journal in Bosnia. This is the story of the Sarajevo Haggadah, as imagined—told backwards and in alternating chapters with the rare book expert who teases the tale out with her research. The story is of bravery, genocide, beauty, horror and evanescence. Really well done, and well read by Aussie actress Edwina Wren.
