Nykyrian is an assassin who has never in his life known love. He is cold, calculated, and devoid of all emotion. Something happens that makes Nykyrian turn his back on The League. He goes renegade with a few of his close friends becoming a vigilante living above the law. Nykyrian changes his identity and is known as Nemesis one of the most feared people in outer space. Fitting since everyone is petrified of him, and they move out of his way when he walks down the hall. During one of his missions he rescues a famous ballet dancer being held captive. Will the tiny dancer break through Nykyrians loveless life, or will she be terrified of him too?
I can't even tell you how much I loved this book. I could not put it down, Nykrian and Kiara were such a fantastic story it engrossed me. I mean the entire world created was amazing the outer space futuristic universe was great. This was such a character story, it really felt like I had lived the entire journey with them. The secondary characters Syn, Hauk, Darling, and Jayne were just as interesting. This was such a well written story, kind of epic. The the love story doesn't happen immediately, but you can cut the tension with a knife, just as good for me. Also even though there was no second love interest, it all worked perfectly. Kiara, was strong willed too, she didn't blindly follow Nykrian into danger. Also Nykrian is so scary, but then when you hear his thoughts, they break your heart. Kiara sees past all the violence, and wants to be the one person in the world to show Nykrian he can be loved. Then so many horrible circumstances make that near impossible, Nykrian makes some HUGE mistakes, and you wonder if even you can ever like him again. The emotional journey the two of them go on is unbelievable. Like I said, so well written, and I could not put this one down.
