it was ok
bookshelves: for-the-sake-of-turning-pages, bad-women
Read in March, 2006

Enthralling enough to distract you from mild turbulance on a cross country flight.

Madame Bovary and the Awakening from the perspective of the nanny who has to take care of the neglected kids.

It's how the other half lives -- if the other half are elite New Yorkers exceedingly disengaged from their kids' lives.

Fairly ok prose style. I felt bad for the dog. But wasn't I supposed to feel bad for the nanny who's main ambition was to get a good Christmas bonus? I'm not sure what the point was, but the pages got themsleves turned somehow.
