Am I becoming an unromantic curmudgeon, or is this series getting more melodramatic all the time? It is sliding the way of Twilight for me: I used to find the series truly enjoyable, but increasingly I just compulsively read to see what happens without enjoying it as much.

After passing her guardian test with flying colors, Rose goes with Lissa and the rest of the grads to the Moroi royal court. Her true mission: to find a way to save Dmitri and turn him back from his evil Strigoi state. The search pushes the bounds of what she is willing to do, and how much she will sacrifice to get him back.

I was kind of hoping things would wrap up, but the massive set-up and cliffhanger at the end says otherwise.
