Paranormalcy definitely was a cute little book. It was entertaining, funny and a little romantic at times – but, honestly, while I enjoyed it, it didn’t really make a lasting impression on me.

Evie was very pink, but also very refreshing when compared to other heroines I’ve met so far. I loved her little quirks and her excitement when it came to ‘normal’ life. Her obsession with her pink rhinestone taser ‘Tasey’ (something that had me very suspicious at the beginning) actually didn’t bother me that much. It was kind of cute. Lend was a great love interest, not particularly swoon worthy, but interesting and sweet nevertheless. Liked all the different kinds of paranormal creatures and their specialities. But overall, I just didn’t care that much for the characters and I also thought that the story lost a bit of its steam around the two third mark. I found the ‘final battle’ very anticlimactic. It was almost over before it really began. The ending left things opens for the sequel, but avoided a mean cliffhanger – thankfully.

All in all, I liked it, but it just wasn’t that big a thing for me.
If I can swap the next instalment, I think I’ll give it a read. But I can’t say that I’m dying to get my hands on it, and with all the great books coming out all the time, I might forget about it until September …
