If you're looking for a murder-mystery-romance that's well above average for the genre, you'll probably not find anything better than the In Death series. It's not great literature, let's be honest, but there's a place and time for that and a place and time for Nora Roberts. Besides, I like the Mary-Sue-esque main character, the sex scenes are rather nice, and I suppose the murder mystery is intriguing, although if you read the whole series, it gets into the "villain of the week" syndrome. They're still my guilty pleasure books, and I'll keep on reading them as long as Roberts keeps writing them.
