The final installment of the Darkest Powers series was the best yet! Picking up where The Awakening left off, Simon, Cloe, Derek, and Tori are hiding out with Andrew and his group that are plotting to bring down The Edison Group. Derek is still suffering through the painful warewolf transformations, and while Chole is helping him through it, their relationship develops furhter. Cloe begins to understand the full extent of her powers and how to use them to her benefit. The four kids still don't fully trust the adults and plan to find Simon and Derek's dad, and save Aunt Lauren and Rae from the Edison Group by themselves if they have to.
The character development is carried even futher in this installment, and their relationships reform into something even deeper. The ending was, like the other two books, abrupt, and it feels like this series could continue for another three books.
