did not like it

I read and watched this play for my theatre class. While it is a great play, possibly the best of our century, I absolutely hated it. The characters are venomous. The plot is meant to be depressing and it is. I have read a lot of plays and novels about sad, depressing topics, but the ones I enjoy the most are the ones that give their readers a break by adding in bits of humor. Even Schindler's List had many instances of humor in it. But this play has no humor. There isn't a funny or laughable scene in the whole play. I don't recommend reading it unless you are like me and need it for a class. Just know it is one of the most depressing, great plays ever written.
