Recommended for: those who enjoy love inspired novels
Read from August 12 to 15, 2010

This story is a little more serious than some other Love Inspired's that I've read recently. Our hero Lukas is a recovering alcoholic who moves to a new town for a fresh start and to care for his aging grandfather. Our heroine Julianne runs her family store and her sister has just moved back to town. Julianne and Lukas both have demons to battle - he with his alcoholism, and she with a family secret as well some strained family relationships.

Merrillee Whren is another new to me author. I like how honest her characters are with themselves. I really felt the emotions being experienced by the h/h were REALISTIC, not forced to add angst to the story.

I'll definitely be reading the next book in this series and will be checking out future work from this author.

Rating: 3 stars for an all-around well written story.
Warning: alcoholism
