For Better: The Science of a Good Marriage
by Tara Parker-Pope
by Tara Parker-Pope
This was a quick and pretty fun read summarizing recent studies on marriage. It was more self-helpy and less science-y than I was looking for. The quizzes made me feel like I was flipping through Cosmo on the beach.
Fun facts:
p. 81
"If music be the food of love, play jazz." Jazz lovers are 30% more sexually active than other people.
Religious beliefs influence your sex life. People who are Jewish or agnostic have 20% more sex than their Christian counterparts..
Extreme liberals have more sex than extreme conservatives.
If you are thinking of marriage, go off the pill and use another form of birth control. The pill influences your hormones which alters the way you think and feel about choosing your mate.
