Lean On Pete
by Willy Vlautin
by Willy Vlautin
Just finished Lean on Pete by an Oregon author. I could not put it down for 2 days. Reminds me of the writing in The Twin. Very sparse and cutting.
The details about the boy who is left homeless and the chain of events he follows are engrossing. How he survives and what he endures. Not flowery or dramatic. Vlautin's writing cuts down everything - and his descriptions are so unbelievably simple and real. A fascinating and unique look at the life of a 15 year old boy who loses everything and keeps on going. Vlautin is great. Highly recommend. His best book to date.
