Interesting premise, intriguing plot and decent sci-fi... handicapped by stilted and shallow dialogue, poor grammar and punctuation (commas are not periods!), and poor character development. The writing does not flow smoothly and the pacing is uneven.

The main character, Adya, is annoyingly perfect, knows everything (seriously), and is impossible to relate to. While I certainly relate to being looked down on for having chosen to be an educated stay-at-home mom, I got very tired of hearing her lecture about it incessantly. All male characters were chauvinistic jerks who couldn't bear the thought of allowing a woman in their intellectual midst... until Adya gives them a good tongue-lashing, thereby winning them over. *eye roll*

Also, each novel in a trilogy should relate yet be able to stand on its own, and this does not. There is no conclusion of any kind, so it was more like reading only one-third of a story rather than a whole novel.
