The story is about a Russian ballet dancer who is at the end of her life and currently lives in Boston. Her life is somehow connected with a Russian professor. When she decides to auction her precious jewels her past life is revealed. The author takes us from past to present and from Moscow to Boston to unravel the mystery of the jewels and her connection to the professor. The reader gets a good look at the characters lives during Stalin's rule and the hardships they had to endure. Good contrast between modern Boston and the old Moscow. Enjoyed the characters. Would definitely recommend this book.
