I really enjoyed this book, and it had quite a few parts that made me laugh out loud. I did not realize it was the third of a series of books when I started reading it, but pretty much figured that out by the way some of the other characters where being introduced to the story. I never felt lost in the story though, but now I would like to go back and read the other two books (book 1: Warrior's women & book 2: Keeper of the heart). When I originally purchased the book I did not realize that Dalden described as the "spectacular blond Viking" on the back of the book cover, was actually really from out of this world as was hinted at. Had I known it was a sci-fi romance I probably would not have purchased it! I was very pleasantly surprised, by the story and the fact that I enjoyed it so much. Martha the Mock II computer really added a nice amount of comic relief to the story, and the characters where very likable. Brittany Callaghan who is from our world and time was very easy to relate too, especially when she is forced to deal with technology that is far superior to ours as well as Barbarians and their very primitive ways. The book moves at a very fast pace and I found it hard to put down. Johanna Lindsey never ceases to amaze me with her ability to tell a great story, even if some of the love scenes are not as steamy as we have grown to expect from her!!! :0)
