Suzanne has just started readying her small-town donut shop for business when someone drops a body off at her door. Unfortunately for her, she's just turned the lights on, and catches a glimpse of the murderer. Since she's not sure if he/she realizes how little she saw, she decides that she'll do some sleuthing to protect herself. The local police think that this is a bad idea, and so does attractive state policeman Jake Bishop. Suzanne's mother, whose house she shares, wishes that Suzanne will concentrate on Jake, and Suzanne's ex-husband Max wants her to forgive his infidelity and get back together with him. That's a lot to tackle on less than five hours of sleep a night!
