Another entry in the "You Can't Judge a Book by Its Cover" Hall of Fame. What a cool, steampunky cover. I had high hopes. And I probably would have liked it more if I wasn't reading The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes at the same time which made this pale in comparison. The characters were a shallow rip off of Holmes. The plot was ho-hum. (There was a bright spot about strange tubes and crazy medical practices keeping Queen Victoria alive but that detail never went anywhere--lost opportunity.) And the biggest indictator of mere okay-ness is that it took me close to three weeks to get through this.

So pick up a Sherlock Holmes novel/collection instead.
