The Master Plan: Himmler's Scholars and the Holocaust

A solid, if a bit unevenly paced, work with an astonishingly complete primary source research base. I kept thinking the whole way through that, while the specific subject of the SS corruption of academic and "scientific" research is a good topic, it could have even been aimed higher at the whole Nazi/SS ideology to make a more profound statement on the corruption of worldviews.
In the weird ways that history rhymes, I also kept thinking about how much of the current academy is filled with people obsessed with race, who also need to always make clear how central Darwinism is to their worldview, down to the stickers on their cars.
