Married By Morning (The Hathaways, #4)
by Lisa Kleypas (Goodreads Author)
by Lisa Kleypas (Goodreads Author)
Summary: Paid companion Catherine Marks is attracted to her employers' older brother, Leo Hathaway, despite their constant bickering, so she agrees to a marriage of convenience with him, but the secret she is hiding threatens them both. -- JCPL Catalog
Opening Sentence: Anyone who had ever read a novel knew that governesses were supposed to be meek and downtrodden.
The build up of sexual tension between Leo and Catherine in the previous books in this series had me very excited to finally get Married by Morning. I wasn't disappointed. I'm in love with all of the Hathaway siblings and their chosen mates. Leo, especially, is hilarious and constantly teases all of his sisters. He and Catherine grind on each others nerves, even as they find themselves more and more attracted to each other. The story behind Catherine's mysterious past is a bit overblown, but her feelings of inadequacy due to abusive and neglectful family members are very real. I very much identified with her need to be loved, even while she resisted getting too close to the people in her life. Also, Dodger the ferret, who made a hysterical appearance in Poppy Hathaway's story, features prominently in this book as well and makes a great sidekick. Definitely give this book a try, although I would recommend reading the series in order if you haven't yet met the Hathaways.
