My Soul to Take (Soul Screamers, #1)

*note* In order to be fair, I won't be judging the love triangle upon my re-read because at the initial time I had read this book (end of 2010-ish?), I hadn't read 50 gajillion love triangle books already, so there was nothing about this situation that felt like an overdone or recycled plot. Because the series originated in early 2009, I give the books a pass for being on the early/starting end of the love triangle trend.
*original review*
My Soul to Take was a clever book. Much like my newfound fascination with the book White Cat for having a story that I hadn't seen before, this one also had some new tricks to please an old dog like me. I can't recall ever reading a PNR about bean-sidhes (banshees) and their song that ushers in the dead. It didn't hurt either that there's a hot grim-reaper hanging around and getting in the way. I almost feel like I'm being set up for some bad sitcom in which we blame everything going wrong on death's "shenanigans."
Even though I wasn't wowed by the book, I will say that since I'm an avid fan of Vincent (love her adult Shifters series), I trust that she'll be taking me to a good place with these books.

Did you read the novella prior to starting? "My Soul to Lose?" I think that was what it was called... Anyway there are some details in the two novellas that go with this series that can make you go "Huh..." Anywho, how are you liking it so far? :)

I'm only about a chapter in. I'm having a VERY hard time reading because I'm still thinking about Shadowfever (which I'm glad to see you're reading now, yay!). I've read this author's adult series (Shifters) and loved it so much that I'm giving this one a try. No, I did not read the Novella, but I have it.
Read it first, they talk about things that happened in it, in the first one. its roughly...50ish pages. I've been reading Shadowfever since it's release but I've been taking my sweet time trying to make it last...and its taking everything in me not to just plow right through! lol
haha the same thing just happened to me, the Fever series was so good that I found absolutely no enjoyment in the next book I tried to read (Spider's Bite)
