I started Such a Pretty Face right before leaving for my beach vacation. Since this is a larger size book, I prefered reading it in our condo rather than lugging it to the beach each day. So that being said, it took me longer than normal to finish it since I spent little time in our condo.
I have a collection of books by Ms. Lamb on my home bookshelf and this is the first book I have actually read.
This is the story of Stevie Barrett and her life before and after the tragedies of her childhood. Part of the story focuses on Helen, Stevie's Mom who suffers from a psychiatric disorder. Ms. Lamb does a wonderful job portraying her disorder and the effect it has on her family.
The characters are quirky, real and truly memorable. I recommend this warm and funny novel. I certainly enjoyed my time with it.
