This book is simultaneously too small and too large. It's physically too small to show sufficient images at sufficient sizes. But it's too large in scope; it tries to do too much at once. I don't think it's a very good way to try to learn about the Renaissance if you know nothing about it. But it does have some interesting trivial knowledge if you do already know about it in a medium-sized sort of way.

(It has some other issues, like not captioning or otherwise identifying some of the images. But it has a great little picture of Leonardo da Vinci's commission as a military engineer.)
