4,5 stars.

I think this series is getting better, even though the plot and theme still same like before.

Giacomo di Venezia, or Jack (his English name), must cleaned the hotel room, after Ian McPhie's bachelor party, (from All I Want for Christmas Is a Vampire (Love At Stake, #5) ), that o batallistic and messy..
He got interrupted when some police officer check his room, because they got report, Jack and his friend is to loud, and its bother other people. Jack got surprised when one of the officer is resisted from his mind control. The officer, that refused to tell her full name, just tell her last name is Boucher, found there are some bloodstained in the room, and commit murder. But Jack tell her, everything is fine, and under control. Jack use his mind control to make Boucher's friend left the hotel. And more surprised because again she is resisted to his control. But she have no choice and follow her friend, left the hotel. Tomorrow, when she is check the room, she's shocked! The room is clean, like there are no anything happen at there. She got confused, and remember that Jack mention, he will going to his friend's wedding, she decided to be wedding crasher..

Unfortunately, her mission is failed, but she found Jack. Jack learn that her name is Lara. Lara is confused with the way Jack maintain to clean his room in hotel, and pretend there no anything happen. Jack can't explain to Lara, that he is a vampire (sounds familiar hmmm), but he get fascinated with Lara's personalities, and the fact that he is can't control Lara's mind. Jack is courted her then, like make a trip to Venice, with teleport them from New York to Venice ( the scene in Venice, is really romantic, I think, this is the romantic scene in this series ).

Lara knows that Jack maybe is more than a mortal. Her guess become more concern, when Jack's mention that he dont want to be like his father, and why his name, Giacomo, is similar with the famous womanizer, Giacomo Cassanova. She assume, maybe he is a mutant, alien, or some people from Kryptonite planet, or maybe a immortal. Then she know, that Jack is really immortal, but worse, he is a vampire.
How she can love a dead people, even though Jack says to her, that he just dead in daylight, she refuse to meet him.

Then, there are lost people case. Some college student is left her room, go to the seminar that promised they can be young forever, and never comeback. Lara investigated this case, with her friend LaToya, and found that maybe the culprit is a vampire,. There no other way that she must get Jack's help, and surprisingly, jack is investigate this case too. Jack don't want Lara to become bait, but she refused. Jack then teach her to hear vampire mind control, since she can't be affected with vampire's mind control. She finally got captured, and found that the culprit is really a vampire, part of Malcontents,Vamps sworn enemy. They act as Greek God, and feed from their captive, the college student, but pretend, thet their act is to make they ascended as God. Lara found a dead body, and when she want to call Jack to tell her condition, there are no way to go out. She just can hope, Jack can find her, and maybe she can tell her real feeling to him...

I think this book is the romantic book in this series, my favorite scene is when Jack invite Lara to his palazzo in Venice, and then arrange a tour at Venice using Gondola. Maybe its true that Italian Men are one of the most romantic men in this world. Giacomo di Venezia a.k.a Jack, knows how to make woman feel to be loved, with his words and attitude. He's not Alpha, but I can't help to adored him. His love for Lara is pure, because he don't want to be like his father, Cassanova, he just want one love in his life. Jack and Lara, become one of my favorite couple in this story.

Next is Vanda Barkowski's story and her hero is shifter. Finally, the shifter make an appearance in this series.
