This is my first Georgette Heyer book. I enjoyed the slang and colloquial English that the author used throughout the book (e.g., blue-devils, wet-goose). I thought the characters were well developed (e.g., the bagpipe, constantly talking cousin, Maria Farlow being jealous of the 17-year-old visitor, Lucilla). Overall, the book moves slow but will probably not be my last Heyer read.
