This is the third book in the series, and just as enjoyable as the others. Ledroptha Curtain is still trying to obtain his Whisperer machine and take over the world. The four children of the Mysterious Benedict Society, their benefactor, Nicholas Benedict, and a group of loyal friends, are the only things that stand in his way. The government has turned on them, and they are running out of allies.

In this book, four year old Constance's telepathic and psychic abilities play a larger role, as she grows older and develops her powers. We also finally find out where Constance came from.
