The X Men

This is how the authors describe a young Magneto: “There was always something about metal he loved.” Really? Is that so? A mutant super villain named Magnet-o who hearts metal? That's uncanny! I wonder: did Archangel always have a thing for down pillows too?

In the authors' defense, it makes sense for a guy whose superpower involves bending metal to his will to have a subconscious affinity for metal during the years leading up to the onset of said powers. Also since his birth name is Erik Lehnsher and not Magneto, it's not like he chose to start loving metal due to his name. He chose his mutant alias because of his metal-controlling powers and consequent affinity for metal, not vice versa.

You're right. I was totally playing around with the "magnet-o" thing. As novelizations go... this one wasn't so bad. Have you read it?
