The perfect story of the comparison of two essentially different cultures, both of whom see their own world as perfect. The story jumps from one world, in the past, into the other one, in the present, but it keeps the balance very nicely. Besides the richly developed culture and society of these two alien worlds, the main treat of this story is the main character. At first I found him rather dull and flat, but the more the story unfolded and I got to know him, the more complex and intriguing he became. Finally, it seemed like a very human and personal story, the characters were people you felt for and their problems seemed realistic enough for any of us here. Definitely something I want to read again in a couple of years.
