A fun mystery with enough red herrings to keep you off the right track but enough clues and speculation that you can keep up with the detective. I really like that Qwilleran (amazing name) is a newspaperman, not a detective per se. Detectives seem a bit outmoded, even for someone Qwilleran's age who can be shocked by the modernity of an electric pencil sharpener. It's a light, quick read.

I wasn't sure when I checked it out if this was really the first in the series, since the cover listed over 20 other Cat Who... titles. I doubt I'll read them all, but I'll see what Braun serves up for Qwill and Koko in at least a few more stories.
