Rule and Lily are back from Dis, but they are still trying to recover from the death of the other half of Lily and Rule's extended-stay in wolf form. They aren't given much time to handle all of those effects, because demons are still coming after them. The demons are also trying to kill the Lu Nuncios of lupi packs around the world. Lots of lupi history and politics becomes clear, but there is still more to know to understand the whole lupi culture.
Magic has broken out around the world. Unfortunately, magic and technology don't coexist very well, so the MCD (Magical Crimes Division) of the FBI is stretched a little thin handling fires around the country.
Cynna and Cullen are right in the middle of this and this story centers around them as much as Rule and Lily. Happily, Grandmother, Li Qin, Toby and Benedict also show up in this story.
