it was amazing

Totally amazing. I've never read anything quite like this before. Written in first person, 17-year-old Zach is in rehab after going through a traumatic incident that he can't bring himself to recall. He is an alcoholic as is one of his roommates, 53-year-old Raphael. There's also Sharkey, his other roommate, who uses drugs, Adam, his therapist, and other members of his group as well as people from the smoking pit where he hangs out a lot. Raphael is the first to work through his monsters, which he does by writing in his journal and painting as well as speaking in group. This is an intense book and I expect to remember these characters and their pain for quite a while.

Shoshanna I'm going through the YALSA BBYA list and adding some to my "to read" list. So excited. Some look like they'd be fun for Guys Read but then I get "nervous" about it.

Anyway, this looks amazing!
