Clearly, I didn't get this book.
I can certainly appreciate Kundera's perspective, but like Orhan Pamuk's Snow, being a rare voice doesn't necessarily translate to a good read.
Perhaps, though, I simply had expectations for the book that weren't met, and am a bit lost as a result. I certainly wasn't expecting as much sex as the book contains, nor the level of sexism.
There's a lot to the book, and perhaps, when I re-read it in 40 years, I'll get more out of it.
