My copy of this book comes with a discussion section, which included one eye-roller of a question that begins with 'Compare the first two stories, which focus on John Paul [Ender's father:]...' - ignoring the fact that Teacher's Pest, the second story, seems to be more wrapped up in Theresa, Ender's mother. In fact, that seemed to be the point of the collection to me - one story for each of Ender's parents, the original Ender's Game novella, and a story about Ender's future. The only reason John Paul appears in Theresa's story is because it would have been silly to do another 'when they were a child' story right after 'The Polish Boy', about John Paul. John Paul is certainly not the focus of 'Teacher's Pest', and though you could argue that neither is Theresa the sole focus, clearly the story is about their relationship, with a extra helping of Theresa's background.

A long rant about a short question, but the discussion section's omniscient and scholarly tone pissed me off.
