Felix Castor is an exorcist with money problems. He hasn't been doing exorcisms recently after his last attempt went badly wrong and melded the soul of his best friend in with a demon. But a new case comes his way of an angry ghost in a library attacking the employees.

I couldn't really find anything about the book that made me want to keep reading it. Felix was ok as a character but the ones he met at the library weren't very interesting. The plot was slow and didn't seem to be going anywhere. The world the author described was grim and lifeless and held no real appeal for me. There was the odd flash of humour but it wasn't enough to keep me reading. A few people have compared the character of Felix to Joe Pitt (books by Charlie Huston) which was interesting as I found those books equally boring and grim.
