I would give this 3.5 stars...made me laugh out loud a few times...anyone who likes to bake or considers themself a 'foodie' would enjoy this book.

He even spends time baking for monks in a French monastery. I like the idea of a retreat to a monastery or an abbey. Sounds very peaceful.

My only unanswered question is when he bit into the 'perfect' loaf at the restaurant which led him to this quest, why didn't he just go back to that restaurant and ask them for the recipe/techniques they used tomake their bread...seems like that would have saved a lot of time and effort...wouldn't make for a very interesting book though.
