I enjoyed the memories recounted in this book, but they were usually brief. The author "told" us the stories in a clinical fashion instead of "showing" us the events. I wish that the memories had been stories recounted through each girls' point of view instead of a brief mention of the facts. This had the potential to be a lovely, heart-warming book, but it fell short. These friendships should be celebrated in a way that we can not only relate to, but put ourselves in their shoes and feel the warmth they felt for each other. To wax poetic, these memories should have been woven together like a quilt to wrap ourselves in and keep us warm on cold nights.
