Collaborating with Christopher Golden, Mike Mignola has again drawn elements of history and myths of the supernatural together to spin an heroic tale. Set in a post World War I Europe that is riddled by a plague, this book differs from the Hellboy series in that this tale is spun with words, not pictures. It's flawed hero, Lord Baltimore, having failed both the men in his Army unit and his family, draws upon the friends he can most trust to assist him in eradicating the vampire army drawn to the surface by the violence of Europe's Great War.
