really liked it

I love finding books like this that look interesting but then sort of blindside you with the quality of the writing and the originality of the subject. I knew nothing of the "early" history of swimming, or much about Channel swimming, either. Once I got past the tragedy early on, I had a hard time keeping my interest up, though. I can't really fault the subject, or the was just hard to keep going to the end. Perhaps I'll buy it when it comes out in paperback, rather than check it out of the library, so that I can take more time.
