** spoiler alert **
I don't know where this book went wrong, but I'm sure we could start with the strangeness of the prologue, which had the unfortunate effect of putting me almost completely off the hero. His behavior was creepy, but then, I don't really romanticize that sort of stalkeresque behavior.
Julia, however, made a great and likeable heroine...up until the point where she apparently couldn't avoid being abducted and started making all of these illogical decisions. It felt like the author was moving the plot along instead of the character.
Where it really fell apart for me, though was that Damon--who is supposed to be the rational brother?--paid a couple of thugs to kidnap his wife. Not only does he kidnap her, but brings her to his bedroom against her will! Regardless of how conflicted the heroine is or how much the hero wants to be with her forever, nothing excuses kidnapping.
