Read from June 06 to 30, 2003 , read count: 8

I first read this a number of years ago. I consumed it, loved it, read again over and over again, hid it from my parents, pulled it out of the garbage when it was confiscated. Mind you, there's nothing naughty in this book, I just had crazy fundamentalist parents who see a woman in armor and wig out.

It's hard to say what I really liked so much about it. I definitely liked the dog, Chap. There was a lot of mystery surrounding him and Leesil's elven background and I really wanted to know more about them.

It did frustrate me the way Magiere stubbornly insists there aren't vampires until about halfway through the book, when people are dying from them. Her deliberate balking got tiresome very quickly.

I give it three stars for genuine effort, care for their characters and villains, thought in their plotlines and setting, even if the writing (now that I look back on it) leaves something to be desired.
