Jon's review of Foucault's Pendulum
Foucault's Pendulum (Picador Books) by Umberto Eco
I've heard reviews in all directions regarding Focault's Pendulum. Bored out of my mind, a fun little novel, really atrocious, buy me six, I like chickens... when dealing with postmodernists, this is unavoidable. But this story, ignoring all of the weird context, ignoring the other work of the author, ignoring everything but the text... I fell into this work and it really resonated with me. So in a strictly personal way, I'd say this is an excellent book, brilliantly executed. From a scholarly perspective... hell, it's beyond me.
