I loved this book on so many levels. The characters were so endearing. The heroine was just superb - absolutely determined to turn a horrific experience into a new start, and clumsily normal. Some of the stuff she does and says reminded me of some of the bonkers things everyone does in their life, and it's so well written, I just cracked up. The hero came across a bit like the sort of person you'd give one glance to and think "washed-up snow-bum with a nice bod", but underneath that he was far more interesting. His fears seemed pretty reasonable to me, and his inability to see the positive was written in a way that didn't make him seem whiny, just rather insecure. And the way he admired the heroine was just so sweet. I ended up really liking them both. The aunt I didn't much care for to start with - I wanted to strangle her really. I mean, who tries to get their spouse in bed by serving divorce papers?!! But then again, family can do the daftest things while supposedly looking out for their loved ones, so I can buy it. In summary, a great story about some fascinating, and wonderfully normal characters. Loved it. Oh and for once, the cover actually matches how I would visualize the hero!!
