really liked it
bookshelves: historical-fiction, womens-fiction
Read in August, 2009

Told from the prospective of three women, one white and two black, who decide to challenge the status quo of the racist world of Jackson, Mississippi in the 1960s. It is heart wrenching and a very interesting look at racism in all its forms. I don't think it quite lived up to all the hype but it was worth a read.
