Second book in Victoria Alexander's Last Man Standing series.

Again, I was impressed! The plot was very convincing, I thought, despite the 43 million references to "fate". It was definitely the MOST well-written we-fell-in-love-because-it-was-written-in-the-stars type of book I've ever read...!

Anyway, so the Lady Felicity Melville is a 23-year-old woman who's about the enter her 5th season. She took the last year off to tour Europe and such... (Sounds good to me! Where do I sign up?) Anyway, she WANTS to marry and she has recieved offers, but she wants a husband who isn't the typical cookie-cutter man of the times--BORING. So, in an act of desperation, she does the unthinkable... *rolls her eyes* She wishes on a STAR! NOOOO!!! I know, it's awful. She wishes for a husband who will fill her life with adventure.

And just when she finishes, there appears the Honorable Nigel Cavendish (whose dad is a healthy Viscount (he won't be inheriting any time soon)), who is escaping out a window of the house next door, where he'd been having an affair with the very MARRIED next-door neighbor... and he climbs right into her yard. Anyway, they end up having an interesting conversation there at night--with him down on the ground and her up on her second-story balcony.

After he leaves, she looks up to the stars and says something like, "Thank you for being so swift!" Anyway, so they end up meeting for real at a ball a couple days later, and I really think the rest is history. She actually GOES TO HIS TWIN SISTER'S HOUSE and TELLS HER that she's going to marry Nigel. And Maddy helps her PLOT! It's quite hilarious.

I don't think any man has ever been SO RELUCTANT to get married before. Holy cow. But it IS an adventure--that's for sure. Felicity is ENTIRELY too outspoken, which makes for some fun times... :) And Nigel is reluctant, but he can't help but want her... it's cute.

Anyway, I really liked it! And just wait for the fairy humor... I about busted a gut. 4.5 stars!
