really liked it
bookshelves: world-war-2, adult-nonfiction, ya-nonfiction, award-winners, oprah

A small sliver of a book that still took me three days to finish. This isn't the type of book you can just blow through. I guess no Holocaust book is like that.

I enjoyed it and it wasn't as harsh as other books about concentration camps. Wiesel does a great job of showing the concentration camp without overdoing it. This book is written in chunks so that the reader can swallow one difficult aspect of the camp at a time rather than dealing with its baseness for endless pages. Even with it being so short, this book manages to show all sides of the concentration camp with a distance that helps readers continue reading.

Nicely done.
