A classic is a classic is a classic! Non stop action and unforgettable characters combine to make this one of the all time great books. A Swashbuckler to the max! Strong characterization seems to be a strong point for Dumas. d'Artagnan, Milady to name just two. That's my second Dumas in a few month period and I intend to follow up with more in the coming year. If you haven't read this DO SO. Same for Monte Cristo. BTW - I read the Pevear translation and think it is well worth seeking out.
