** spoiler alert **
From the reviews I read on this book, I really thought I'd like it. I didn't. The book claimed to be about uncovering a mystery surrounding Isaac Newton, but the plot pretty much centered on the trevails of the main character as well as an intended subplot regarding animal activists. The end left many loose ends, not in the "oh I wonder what happened with such and such" way, but more along the lines of "that made no sense." So much focus was put on this whole Isaac Newton thing, it really sputtered at the end. I was hoping for some kind of exciting (though fictional) revelation, but alas, no such luck.
In this reader's opinion, the author should have spent less time reproducing Newton's sketch of his eyeball and more time working on the intricacies of the plot.
