This is apparently the New! Big! Thing! with YA books desperate to find the next Hunger Games. This book mostly hits the mark. While The Hunger Games doesn’t pull any punches, this does feel firmly like a YA book, which may be its only flaw. Either way, there’s one group that is stuck in a living prison of sorts, and then some nobility that lives outside and thinks the prison is a myth. A cool setup, and the book ends up being pretty engaging and is set up for a sequel. Worth your time.
