Ok,So this was my third Book of Ian McEwans and I have to say one thing that I really love about him is how diverse his subjects and writing style are for each book.....
I do not know if this will go down as my favourite McEwan but I am fairly convinced that it is one that I will never forget!!
This is a story about a group of people brought about by one of those fateful occurences that none of us would wish to experience......
An absolutely beautiful, harmonious day is dramatically interrupted most fatefully but this in itself is not the problem. The problem is how one mans obsession begins to unravel and destroy another mans almost idyillic life.....
This is a book that once you have read it you will wonder suspiciously about any casual acquaintance who seems to be just a little too friendly or always around, how often you "accidentally" run into them.It will have you questioning how well you know and can trust people......
It may also have you questioning yourself,in how you would cope if this happened to you......
Would it be better to be an extrovert who immediately tells someone whats going on,or would you be better being introverted, hoping that it was all in your own imagination and that it would fade away????
Ultimately this is a story about personal security, trust, love, faith and Science. And all wraped up within a Darkly warped yet innocently meant package.....
