An Unwilling Bride if possible had an even stranger concept. Our Hero Lucien, Marquess of Arden is told by his father that he is not his offspring, but in fact the result of an affair on his mother's side. To continue the bloodline, he is told to marry Beth (someone), who is actually... his father's bastard daughter. Brady... bunch incest? Very strange. Beth is a bluestocking and unused to someone ruling her life and Lucien is as arrogant as a man with his position is expected to be. There seems to be a lot of fuss about this novel on Amazon because it addresses the issue of violence towards women which is true.

Lucien is a volatile man and in one scene backhands Beth across the face which made me see red! Especially more since the incident is simply brushed over in later scenes and never addressed again. C'mon people... A recurring enemy from Rogue 1 returns in this novel and the climax introduces a new couple to us, Hal and Blanche whose story I really want to get into.
